Seventeen-year-old Aderyn (“Ryn”) only cares about two things: her family, and her family’s graveyard. And right now, both are in dire straits. Since the death of their parents, Ryn and her siblings have been scraping together a meager existence as gravediggers in the remote village of Colbren, which sits at the foot of a harsh and deadly mountain range that was once home to the fae. The problem with being a gravedigger in Colbren, though, is that the dead don’t always stay dead.

The risen corpses are known as “bone houses,” and legend says that they’re the result of a decades-old curse. When Ellis, an apprentice mapmaker with a mysterious past, arrives in town, the bone houses attack with new ferocity. What is it that draws them near? And more importantly, how can they be stopped for good?

Together, Ellis and Ryn embark on a journey that will take them deep into the heart of the mountains, where they will have to face both the curse and the long-hidden truths about themselves.

*A big thanks to the publisher for approving my request for this book in exchange of honest review*

Its one of the great book that I’ve ever read. The first time I read her book, #TheHeartWeSold , it’s intriguing and the concept is obviously unique. So to this book, man, it’s beyond my expectations. I think this one could be really perfect for Halloween. The settings of the book is really creepy, imagine that the DEAD came to LIFE, not just dead but BONES came to LIFE! Seriously, how she explain the details of these things are really creepy but it’s one of the loveliest read ever — I’ll explain this why.

So we have two great characters; meet Ryn, a gravedigger, cunning, smart and loving sister. She’s absolutely one of my favorite as being a big a sister in the story. Then meet Ellis, mapmaker, innocent, and also smart. They cross their paths together into the forest where Ellis got an attack from creatures he hadn’t know. Ellis wants to go to the mountains to create his map in Colbern and Ryn wants to go to the mountains to look for the curse cauldron. Together, they explore the lands going to cauldron and they never knew what’s coming to their way.

These characters are so deary to me when I start reading them. Their relationship grew fast and really unexpected situation how these two grow. They have this personalities that I really like, especially for Ryn. She’s a VERY responsible sister with her two younger siblings. She’s been so brave and she would do anything for her family to live. As per their love thingy, i think it’s okay, not bad. Just okay that gave me enough cheesy-ness and moments in the story and I never stop smiling in this story. It’s cute but creepy if you know what I mean 🙂

Overall, WHAT. A. BOOK. I mean, WOW… a very fast paced book. I couldn’t put it down easily, since I don’t want to miss ANYTHING in this book. So please PLEASE pick this up when it published! I’m happy and honored to read this ❤
