*hands up and throws the book* okay… hang on heart you are beating so fast while finishing it until the end. This book is SERIOUSLY, heart gripping, intense, heartbreaking Evil queen story I’ve ever read.
First off, the world here is the world I’ve been want to stay and found out more about it. It is beautifully written and I like how the author describes everything, detail by detail, and my imagination was like “wow, where did this book drag me?!” It is fascinating East Asian fantasy world and the more I dig more to this world, it’s craving me for more.
Xifeng, a beautiful eighteen year old teenager, living with her witch Guma. She grew up at the forgotten village on the edge of the map. Guma reads her fortune to be the Empress of Feng Lu, as long as she embraces her darkness and her fate to be. When Xifeng decided to leave with the boy who loved her, she wondered her Guma’s teaching and how she will get in to the palace.
I seriously don’t know how to put my feelings for this book because it’s just heart breaking and really twisted. First few chapters was pretty slow as you read but as you continue, it was already captivating and I can’t stop reading it. XIFENG is now in my list of the badass girls. She’s my favorite because she’s smart, beautiful, strong and independent, like every boys can fall for her! I love her but at the same time I hate her. You see, some of her decisions are REALLY HEART BREAKING but she knows that those are her sacrifices that I have to understand.
I’ve read anti-heroin books for the couple of months but this one is outstanding. YOU BETTER PICK UP THIS BOOK! You won’t have any regrets for picking this!
